About the dictionary
This dictionary translates between German and Persian. You can enter a word, a phrase or an inflected form in either language.
The data come from open-licensed sources. The page Sources and licences lists each source with its licence.
A program compiles the dictionary automatically from these sources: it merges them, normalizes spellings and filters records. Single entries can therefore contain errors.

Notes on translations and examples
A translation without a note is supported by several independent sources or comes from a source of high measured accuracy.
- not confirmed
- A translation with this note comes from a single source of moderate accuracy. It can be imprecise or old-fashioned and, in rare cases, wrong.
- indirect translation
- The two sentences of an example are linked through a shared sentence in a third language. The translation can therefore be less literal than a direct one.
- automatic match
- A program matched the two sentences of an example by automatic text alignment. Check such examples before you use them.
